Digital Support Technicians play a key role in helping organisations use technology effectively by supporting users, maintaining digital systems, and providing guidance to maximise productivity. Apprentices may focus on digital applications for internal teams or digital services for external users, depending on business needs.

Digital Support Technician Standard Information

  • To go through gateway, the following criteria have to be met:

    • The apprentice has completed training covering the knowledge, skills and behaviour of the apprenticeship.

    • The apprentice has achieved English and mathematics at level 2.

    • The apprentice has completed a portfolio demonstrating all of the required knowledge, skills and behaviour of the apprenticeship.

  • The assessment approach for this standard has two methods:

    • Professional discussion underpinned by a portfolio.

    • Project report with presentation.

    • 60 minutes (+10%) .

    • Will include at least 12 questions.

    • Informed by portfolio.

    • Real business task agreed at Gateway.

    • Completed within set timeframe (4 weeks).

    • Produces project report/output showing KSBs.

    • Digital Applications Technician.

    • Digital Service Technician.

  • Enrol on programme.

  • Start building your Reflective Portfolio.

  • Functional Skills support begins (if needed.)

Start of Apprenticeship

  • Work on real projects-support software, hardware, digital comms.

  • Develop core knowledge, skills & behaviours.
